Cincinnati Bengals 2017-18 NFL Season Preview Football Odds & Free Predictions

The Story:
It was a 2016 season to forget for the Cincinnati Bengals to say the least who seemed to have been distraught by their devastating loss to the rival Pittsburgh in that crazy 2015 Wild Card playoff which clearly affected their fragile state of mind. The Bengals are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball yet underachieve in such a way that maybe a coaching change or a new philosophy was in order for them to finally win a postseason game. It wasn’t so last year yet again when they finished the season with a 6-9-1 record and it is a wonder why Coach Marv Lewis is still at the helm of this team even though he has yet to win a postseason game with the team.

The Bengals are trying to emulate the success the Steelers have accomplished throughout the years by sticking with their head coach but Lewis has failed miserably in his tenure yet he still remains. Lewis is brilliant when leading a defense as he has done so for most of his career but as a leader of men? Not so much. As long as Lewis leads the team, the Bengals will never succeed mark my words. Nevertheless, despite their coaching shortcomings, the Bengals should be in the mix in the AFC Central with QB Andy Dalton and WR A.J. Green leading the way. However, Dalton’s mettle will be tested often with a shaky offensive line protecting him and that doesn’t bode well for the quarterback who has failed on numerous occasions while under duress.

The Bottom Line:
Same old same old for the Bengals as you just cannot trust this team to be anything but dysfunctional. While they do have the ingredients to make a run for the postseason, they will somehow implode at some point and simply don’t have the fortitude and leadership resolve to overcome the intangibles.

Cincinnati Bengals Last year’s record: 6-9-1
