Matt Barkley - NCAA Football Las Vegas Odds: USC Trojans at Colorado Friday

Considering that USC Trojans is ineligible for postseason play for a second and final season, last week’s home game with unbeaten Stanford was essentially USC’s bowl game. So it should be interesting to see how the Trojans respond Friday at a bad Colorado Buffaloes team after having their guts ripped out by the Cardinal. The Trojans opened as 22.5-point favorites on Bodog’s NCAA Football Las Vegas Odds and there will be live betting available.

USC (6-2, 3-2 Pac-12) fell to Stanford 56-48 in triple overtime in one of the season’s best games. There was big controversy at the end of regulation with the score tied at 34. QB Matt Barkley, who passed for 284 yards and three scores, got the Trojans into Stanford territory in the final seconds, but star Robert Woods used up the final 9 seconds running to the sideline, preventing USC from trying a long field goal for the upset.

Coach Lane Kiffin said he asked for a timeout before the clock ran out but wasn’t granted it. He was fined $10,000 this week for criticizing the officials. In addition, the Pac-12 suspended USC star safety T.J. McDonald for an illegal hit on Stanford receiver Chris Owusu. USC was assessed a 15-yard, personal-foul penalty for McDonald’s late fourth-quarter play, which helped fuel a game-tying drive by the Cardinal. McDonald will sit out the first half of this game.

Colorado (1-8, 0-5) is easily the worst team in the Pac-12. The Buffs have lost six in a row and have allowed at least 31 points in all of them. In fact, the only game this season in which CU didn’t allow at least 31 was its one win, over Colorado State. The Buffs have lost their past four games by at least 28 points.

However, Colorado is expected to get back two top offensive players this week in receiver Paul Richardson and running back Rodney Stewart. Both have been out with sprained knees. Richardson has missed four games, Stewart has missed 2 1/2 games. Richardson is the team's leading receiver and has accounted for 483 yards in total offense. He has scored a team-best five touchdowns. Stewart leads the team in rushing with 473 yards and is second in receiving with 435 yards.

CU is 0-9 ATS in its past nine as a dog of more than 10.5 points. USC is 4-1 ATS in past five as a road favorite.
